Frequently Asked Questions
At ASKA Handyman and Remodeling Services, we believe in transparent, upfront pricing with no hidden fees. All costs are discussed in advance and clearly outlined in your contract. Our pricing may include labor, applicable taxes, materials (unless otherwise specified), material delivery, removal and hauling of construction debris, and post-project cleanup, where applicable. Any exclusions or additional costs will be communicated to you before the work begins
We start by providing a free estimate, either online or on-site.
For an online estimate, we ask you to send us photos of the project along with a brief description of the work you need. We evaluate the information provided and may ask additional questions to better understand the scope of work and provide you with the most accurate estimate possible.
For an on-site estimate, we visit your property to take accurate measurements, assess the project, and discuss your needs and expectations. We may also ask additional questions during the evaluation process to ensure we fully understand your project.
Once we have evaluated the project, we provide you with a detailed, flat-rate estimate so you know the cost upfront.
After you approve the estimate, we sign a contract outlining the agreed-upon scope of work, pricing, and terms. Once the required deposit is paid, we schedule the work and get started on your project. Throughout the process, we keep you informed and strive to complete every project professionally and to your satisfaction.

From small jobs to big transformations — ASKA gets it done!
ASKA Handyman and Remodeling Services works with both residential and commercial customers, including homeowners, property managers, insurance companies, and multi-unit HOA communities. We coordinate projects with insurance companies and property management teams to help ensure the work is completed efficiently and according to the agreed-upon scope.
Our commercial experience includes converting office spaces into retail bakeries, working with commercial food distribution facilities such as “Marukai Corporation”, and completing projects for retail stores like “Cool Beans” and other businesses.
We understand that every customer and project has different needs. That’s why we offer flexible scheduling whenever possible and work with you to accommodate specific days, times, and business operating hours. Whether you’re a homeowner, business owner, property manager, or HOA representative, we tailor our approach to your project’s requirements.
One recent project we’re especially proud of was replacing an outdoor fence for a family with young children. Our customer was understandably concerned about the project being delayed because, without a fence, her children could potentially run out toward the street. She needed the work completed on time to restore a safe, enclosed outdoor space for her family.
We understood how important this project was to her, so we made every effort to stay on schedule and complete the work as promised. The project was successfully completed within two weeks, just as expected.
What made this project particularly rewarding was seeing our customer’s smile and knowing we had helped give her greater peace of mind. At ASKA, we believe our work is about more than completing a project—it’s about understanding our customers’ needs, honoring our commitments, and making a positive difference in their everyday lives.
We recommend doing your research and choosing a qualified, reliable professional with a proven track record. Home repairs, remodeling, and construction projects can be stressful and costly when things go wrong, so choosing the right contractor from the beginning can save you time, money, and unnecessary headaches.
Here are a few things to consider before hiring a contractor:
● Verify their license, insurance, and bonding. Make sure the contractor is properly licensed for the work being performed and carries the appropriate insurance and bond. In California, you can verify a contractor’s license through the Contractors State License Board (CSLB).
● Be cautious of prices that seem too good to be true. An unusually low estimate may indicate that important work or materials have been left out, or that unexpected costs could arise later. Compare estimates carefully and make sure you’re comparing the same scope of work.
● Get everything in writing. A professional contractor should provide a clear, detailed estimate and a written contract outlining the scope of work, materials, pricing, payment schedule, and expected timeline. Make sure you understand the terms before signing.
● Understand the payment terms. Be cautious of contractors who demand excessive upfront payments or ask for payment before the work has been performed or materials have been delivered. For most home improvement projects in California, the initial down payment cannot exceed $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less. Progress payments generally cannot exceed the value of work performed or materials delivered. Make sure the contract includes a clear payment schedule and that you understand the terms before signing.
● Check reviews. Read customer reviews across multiple platforms. A pattern of unresolved complaints or negative reviews can be a warning sign.
● Ask friends, family, and colleagues for recommendations. Personal experiences can be a valuable way to find a contractor who is reliable, professional, and easy to work with.
● Pay attention to communication and professionalism. Choose someone who listens to your needs, answers your questions, explains the process, and communicates clearly about scheduling, potential delays, and changes to the project.
● Look beyond the price. Quality workmanship, appropriate materials, attention to detail, and a commitment to deadlines are just as important as the initial estimate.
Remember, a reputable contractor has a professional reputation to maintain and will take their commitments seriously. The goal is not simply to find the lowest price, but to find someone you can trust to complete the work properly, safely, and according to the agreed-upon terms.
At the end of the day, it’s not just a home, a business, or a property — it’s your home, your business, your property. And choosing the right company to take care of it truly matters.
At ASKA Handyman and Remodeling Services, we believe in honest communication, transparent pricing, professional workmanship, and treating every customer’s property with care and respect. We encourage every customer to do their due diligence and make an informed decision before starting any project.
